Okay, so a few days ago, at the anime club at my school, it was cosplay/manga-potluck day :) All in all, it was pretty good, but if it went perfectly I wouldn't be here now would I? :P  Anyways, my Ita-friend called me pretty early in the morning and asked me to bring my lolita dress so she could wear it to cosplay day.  Now, before I would've said it was lolita but 1. I now realize there was/is a lot I could've done to improve my dress and 2. She would make any lolita thing UN-loli.
Ok, so I thought, why not?  I brought it and later during lunch she wanted to quickly try it on.  So we all squeezed into the bathroom and helped her zipper it up, tie the back bow, e.t.c. but it looked horrible, there was no petticoat and it was all oddly shaped.  She had on her "rori" socks which were basically normal, black knee highs with ribbon running through the top.  She quickly leaned out the door to show our male anime-club, member friends (:P) and one of them had recently been to anime north and had bought Chii ears so of course she just had to wear them too.  Luckily enough, she did not wear them at anime club.  As we were getting ready to go she got the dress on again (we have a uniform so we had to keep them on until the end of the day), tied her hair in a pigtail on the side of her head (-___-) caked on the eyeshadow and put on lace gloves that had skulls and chains on them, oh it was so rori it made me cry.

And of course when we got it there everyone complimented her and our supervisor (the head of the french department) came up and asked if she was wearing "french maid" (of course) and when we told her the fashion was called lolita she gave us the most evil look I have ever seen.  She then made me explain where lolita started, what it's inspired from, what an outfit consists of e.t.c.  And while explaining that you should wear a blouse under your JSK, OP's and skirts should go down to at least your knee or a few inches above, that accesories included things like bonnets and Alice Bows my friend looked like she had been punched in the face. :P so ...

TL;DR : My friend just realized that Lolita =/= cosplay ... hopefully.

I feel that people with "ita-friends" should make more of an effort to help them if they wish to be helped instead of bashing them behind their backs online haha. How good of friends are you with this girl?

I second this comment.
If you can't tell her to her face give her a G&LB issue as a present.

or let them learn on their own and cringe about it later XD
There's no reason to not be friends with someone just because they dress badly

And lol, I'm not NOT being friends with her just because the dress badly, there are also a few reasons such as that she is a hypocrite when she talks behind the back of our other friend and gets mad at her for talking behind her back e.t.c. I would explain more but it's complicated.

lol, I'm unfortunatly too poor to buy one and all of the bookstores near me don't have them, and I believe the nearest one is at the Eaton Centre.

I am pretty good friends with her but lately things haven't been going to well, I have also tried to help her on multiple occasions, have shown her lolita pictures, websites, brand (pics.) e.t.c. but I guesse she just doesn't "get it".
